Sawfly - Cimbex americanus

Sawfly - Cimbex americanus
Weld, Franklin County, Maine, USA
June 2, 2010
Size: ~ 1.5 inches
This bug was found on the beach at Mt. Blue State Park in the late afternoon. When found, it was stuck upside down in the sand, it righted itself, but seemed unable to fly. I think it is a Cimbicid sawfly?
