Found this spider in my Iris garden. It was day time and the sun was out. Caught it in a bug container.

Looks like
Nursery Web Spider (Pisaurina mira):

Welcome to BugGuide!

Ken, Thank you so much. Are you just sitting at your computer waiting for bug pictures to appear? I did not see an egg sach being held by the spider. The nursery web does not look like there is any egg sach inside. Do you think it is in the garden somewhere? I am very uncomfortable with spiders. After taking the pictures I let the spider go about 50 yards from my house (in an open lot of land).

Yeah, pretty much sitting here waiting...
Comes of not having a life, I guess. :)

I'm not sure about the egg sac. It could be that she hasn't produced one yet. It could also be that all of her babies have already hatched and dispersed. I can tell you that this is not in any way a dangerous spider, and that she is no more eager to have dealings with you than you are to have dealings with her. I'm glad to hear that you released her unharmed to go about her life. Most likely you will never encounter her again.

I don't think this web is the nursery...
It reminds me of the structure in this image,

which apparently is a shelter the female builds to protect herself while spinning her egg sac.
