Mating dimorphic weevils - Adaleres ovipennis - male - female

Mating dimorphic weevils - Adaleres ovipennis - Male Female
Sunset Beach River Park, Sonoma County, California, USA
June 7, 2010
Size: ? 5 mm
I found this mating pair of sexually dimorphic (or at least variable) weevils near the Russian River. I didn't write down a measurement in my field notes, but I've put my best guess above... Better pics of this same pair from my wife will follow.

Thank you -
Dr. O'Brien! v will have to figure out where this one goes in the weevil hierarchy, I think - believe this is a new genus for BG?

oh yes you bet
just spelled with an 'e'

no bell-ringers they are
which is always thrilling

Added -
several more photos from my wife of the pair and the ? female on its own.
