Calisoga

Calisoga
Las Trampas SP, California, USA
January 11, 2006
Size: 1cm
Well, I finally get to add a family to the guide. This tiny Mygalomorph is in the genus Aptostichus, in the family Cyrtaucheniidae. I sent the photo to an expert of Mygalomorphs at Berkely, and he was able to ID it for me.

Prowling Spider???? - Calisoga Calisoga

Moved
Moved from Aptostichus.

immature cyrtaucheniids from the Bay Area would look more like this:

Congrats!
Way to go, Will! You really did your homework, and now the whole world benefits from it. I don't think I've ever seen an image of a spider in this family, certainly not one from California. Keep up the great work:-)
