Wolf spider w/spiderlings - Hogna - female

Wolf spider w/spiderlings - Hogna - Female
Columbia, SC, Lexington County, South Carolina, USA
June 5, 2010
Size: approx. 2 inches
This gorgeous wolf spider scooted into my garage one night when I lifted the garage door. She was quite large and as you can see, was carrying lots of babies. I'm hoping someone can tell me specifically what type of wolf spider this is. I see a lot of wolf spiders around my home, but some appear quite different from others, so I'm trying to learn which is which. Thank you in advance for your help!!

Thank you, Leigh Anne! I actually found another one, smaller mother but loaded with babies, shortly after I took this photo. I felt very lucky indeed!

Moved
Moved from ID Request. Hogna sp. of some kind. If you are really interested in finding out species, try to catch one (that doesn't have babies) and get images of both sides of the spider. The Hogna genus has distinct patterns on the ventral side.
