Beautiful Mottled-Green Orb Weaver? - Araneus bicentenarius

Beautiful Mottled-Green Orb Weaver? - Araneus bicentenarius
Winnabow, Brunswick County, North Carolina, USA
June 12, 2010
Size: Quarter-sized and FAT!
My husband and I found this WILD looking spider at the EV-HENWOOD Nature Reserve today! It was about the size of a quarter and looked extremely well-fed! The best I can tell from my research this is some kind of orb weaver, but I'm hoping someone can verify this for me! :)
