Sorry..changed my mind about this one...S. bogemanni does not have foveate punctures. There is also a 4th puncture barely visible at the apex. Also note rugulose frons.

Keyed from Lindroth; diagnostic characters include 3 dorsal foveate punctures on each elytron and pronotum with defined obtuse hind angles.

Was there a recent forest fire? Members of this genus are pyrophiles and are attracted en masse to burning wood/trees.

 
Well not recent, two years ago
but massive. They were under fallen logs and around were all the dead, standing trees. I'll ad a photo
