Click beetle - Aeolus

Click beetle - Aeolus
Salem, Marion County, Oregon, USA
June 13, 2010
Size: 1cm or less
Found under a red oak tree at night. Definitely a click beetle but not sure as to the species. I have never seen this type before but then again due to the size I am not surprised. It was missing it's front left leg when I found it. It tried to fly occasionally. It was a pain to get it to hold still but I finally coerced it with a slice of an apple. under the natural light the coloration was not showing up well so I grudgingly used flash on some of the shots.
