Lightless Lightening Bug - Lucidota atra

Lightless Lightening Bug - Lucidota atra
Jamaica Bay Wildlife Reserve, NYC, New York, USA
June 11, 2010
Size: ~3/4 inches
This critter looks very much like and flies in a similar fashion to a Lightening Bug. It doesn't, however, have the phosphorescing facility at the end of the abdomen.
