Black Spider with White Markings and Green Fangs - Phidippus audax
New Braunfels, Comal County, Texas, USA
December 31, 1969
Size: 0.5 inches approximately
This spider was seen crawling on my window. At first, I thought it had green eyes, but with my viewfinder, I was able to see that his eyes are black and the green are "fangs". Anyone know what this is and whether it's poisonous?

Phidippus audax
Jumping spider commonly called the Bold or Daring jumping spider. More photos of the critters here: http://bugguide.net/node/view/2006/bgimage

They are harmless! I have several as pets and they have never once bitten me, even though I handle them very often. Almost all spiders are venomous, but the vast majority have venom that is harmless to people. :] Looks like an adult female!

Jumping Spider
As first guess would be of the jumping spider family (Salticidae). Nicely shot!
