4th instar larva. When found July 6, 1993 on Wild Black Cherry (Prunus serotina), the larva was light green. On July 31, 1993, it changed color drastically. Then it became a deeper green with yellow and red design running down the middle of its back. Very hairy, except for the top edge, which only had a few hairs.
