Brown Prionid Beetle - Orthosoma brunneum

Brown Prionid Beetle - Orthosoma brunneum
Mobile (Dog River), Mobile County, Alabama, USA
June 16, 2010
I had several of these impressively large beetles, this night

Moved
Reading Info, I see why I had several come to lights ... my new batch of rotten banana bait.

Moved from Beetles.

some kind of prionine, perhaps a Derobrachus
wait for those who know the big ones

Thanks
Looks like it's going to be a Brown Prionid Beetle (Orthosoma brunneum)

you're the boss -- i won't even venture there
what's beyond 15 mm is beyond me
