Bee and nursery chamber - Megachile xylocopoides

Bee and nursery chamber - Megachile xylocopoides
Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia, USA
June 16, 2010
Could someone please help with a bee identification from this set of three images? I found and pulled the rolled-leaf construction from the open end of a little-used garden hose and placed it in a net cage. After a few weeks, several bees bored their way out. They were released near some purple coneflowers and several immediately began nectaring on the flowers. Any ideas on an identification? Thanks.
