Wolf Spider? - Dolomedes tenebrosus

Wolf Spider? - Dolomedes tenebrosus
Richmond, Chittenden County, Vermont, USA
June 18, 2010
Size: approximately 1.5 in body
I just want to know what it is because I've never seen one around our house before! And it was huge! I didn't want to get too close to it though.
From a Google search, I thought it might be a wolf spider-but it didn't really seem to look like those pictures. The legs look skinnier to me than a wolf spider. It just stayed in that spot for 10 min or so. It was pretty damp behind the stair-they are concrete and we live on mostly clay. Hope that helps! Thanks!
