Micro moth - Argyresthia austerella

Micro moth - Argyresthia austerella
Fairfield, Wayne County, Illinois, USA
June 6, 2010
Attracted to my garage light. On the MPG live images I ended up at 2449 – Argyresthia conjugella. However, the species page at the E. H. Strickland Museum states that this is a montane species which would put it about a thousand miles away from home here in the flatlands! The only other that seems close is A. austerella but it lacks the black up the side of the head.

Moved
Moved from Argyresthia.

With DNA data to support the ID of individuals with black extending up to the head, I'll move this here. Corrections welcome.
