Acroneuria californica - Stonefly - Hesperoperla pacifica

Wing venation
I probably should have taken a closer look at this specimen when I commented on the updated genus designation.

The wing venation indicates that this is probably Hesperoperla pacifica rather than Calineuria californica. The many small cells created by crossveins in the radial and medial spaces of the outer portion of the fore and hind wings would be atypical in C. californica, as would the branching of the 2nd anal vein in the right forewing. That branching is variable, but quite common in H. pacifica. It is also not unusual to see it in only one wing in that species.

In addition, neither the head or pronotum show markings that are typical of C. californica.

Taxon update
Acroneuria californica has been revised to Calineuria californica. (I believe this is now a monotypical Nearctic genus.)
