keys: to NA spp. except P. daviesi in(2); to eastern spp. in(3)
Range
Holarctic, Oriental, and Neotropical regions; by far more diverse in the Southern Hemisphere; in our area, 12 spp. in 2 subgenera in the east (of which 2 transcontinental), 4 subgenera in the west only (mostly sw. US)(1)
