Appalachian Tiger Beetle - Cicindela ancocisconensis

Appalachian Tiger Beetle - Cicindela ancocisconensis
Hartland , Carleton County, New Brunswick, Canada
June 19, 2010
Size: 10-14 mm
Observed on a sheltered sandy, pebbled area in on a river island. The beetles were very active on a very warm sunny afternoon. I realize that the picture is not the best quality but any information you have about this beetle would be appreciated.

Hot Pixel
Looks like your camera may have a bad spot on the sensor. You should probably consult the manual to see what you can do. Maybe map it out?

C. ancocisconensis
John,
Could you tell me how you ruled out C. repanda. I am trying to make sure that I can recognize C. ancocisconensis when I see it. For now, I am concentrating on a greater gap between the marginal band and the humeral lunule (which I don't see in this photo). The humeral lunule is also C shaped in repanda, but that is a bit variable and subjective it seems.
Thanks,
Josh

Camera trouble
John,

Thanks for noticing the bad pixel. I didn't realize it until after I posted the pictures! Thanks for the information.
