A lovely little moth - possibly Chrysoesthia sp? - Atteva aurea
Darnestown, Montgomery County, Maryland, USA
June 20, 2010
This lovely guy was found perched on our kitchen door window - looking outward. I remember seeing them around here last year as well. They fly very quickly so I've been unable to get an image of him 'on the wing'. He stayed 2 days so far, I intend to send him on his way in the late afternoon as he doesn't seem to be getting anything to eat indoors!

I think he may be a species of Chrysoesthia, but I am far from certain. Anyone have an opinion? My Daughter would like its name to be "The Purrdy Moth" if we can't identify it :-)

Ailanthus Webworm Moth (Atteva punctella)

Although "The Purrdy Moth" works for me, too. :)

Another name
I call it the Flower Print Moth.

Thanks!
Thanks for the quick Identification guys! You're the best!
