Diachlorus ferrugatus
Glassboro Woods, Gloucester County, New Jersey, USA

Size: ~1.75cm
These were quite common yesterday. They bit, but not painfully. I.e. more like a mosquito than a horse fly.

, but family Tabanidae for certain. Love those eyes!
