los angeles, california, California, USA

Size: 3/8-1/4
This shiny ant with long antenna was on stinging nettle near willows and a seep. Green material seems to be gathered around the waist. Is this how ants collect nectar?

Not an ant!
This is the nymph of a true bug, either Alydidae or Miridae.
