Some kind of Papilio I suppose, but I'm not too good with butterflies.

There are enough details about this one
to pretty much convince - after some coming back to it a few times - that it's a worn female Baird's Swallowtail.
Moved from Butterflies (excluding skippers).

Thirded,
it's a Black Swallowtail [or a Baird's] - I can't tell which absolutely for sure because it's faded and a bit tattered, but the lack of orange below and the yellow tegulae above favor the second. Too bad it's not a Spicebush, that would be something for Denver.

sure looks like a
Spicebush swallowtail.

Papilio Polyxenes?
based on dark coloration, and two rows of prominent yellowish spots along forewing edge....thanks to the Stokes Butterfly Book; Spicebush Swallowtail is kind of similar, but doesnt seem to be recorded that far west in Colorado....
see what others think,

I 2nd the notion - P. polyxenes (MALE)
Looks like a Black Swallowtail to me also, and I agree with geo distribution info provided for both taxa - P. troilus is more eastern in its natural range.
