Explanation of Names

Telmatophilus typhae (Fallén 1802)

Size

1.9-2.6 mm (Hoebeke & Wheeler 2000)

Range

native to the Palaearctic, adventive in NA, with published records for Maritime Canada only (earliest specimen collected in 1986)(1), but apparently occurs over several ne. US states, too (see BG submissions)

Food

on male flowers of cattails (Typha, Typhaceae)(1)
