Adult Male - Pardosa xerampelina - male

Adult Male - Pardosa xerampelina - Male
Whitecourt, Alberta, Canada
June 17, 2010
Size: BL = 6 mm
This is a color morph that looks quite different from the mottled/camouflaged version of this species: The palps look like a match, however. Don Buckle kindly looked at the photos for the two specimens and said he thought they represented "intraspecific variation," but didn't rule out the possibility of a "cryptic species." So, because the palps are so similar, I'm putting this one in the species page for now and will look for other specimens in the future to see if there are any life-history trends, habitat differences, etc. that might separate the two morphs.

[Oct, 2012 - I now believe that this is not a subspecies, but more probably just an older individual whose hairs have rubbed off]
