Egg parasitoid wasp - Telenomus - female

Egg parasitoid wasp - Telenomus - Female
Medford, Jackson County, Oregon, USA
June 27, 2010
Size: 1.3mm
This is the egg parasitoid female Telenomus scanning a cluster of stink bug eggs. She will oviposit a single egg into several (if not all) of these eggs. The barrel-shaped eggs being light-colored have been recently laid on the underside of this apple leaf in my backyard. The eggs probably belong to the green stink bug (Acrosternum hilare).
