Earwig - Forficula auricularia - male

Earwig - Forficula auricularia - Male
Boulder, Boulder County, Colorado, USA
June 29, 2010
On yarrow. These seem to be really locally abundant.

An immature, which makes it hard to identify. It would be either a Doru species, or Forficula auricularia. I'm not familiar with the immature stages of Doru

'locally abundant' would suggest F. auricularia, imho
association w/vegetation is another strong evidence
anyway, a photo of an adult observed at the same spot would solve the riddle; can't imagine more than one sp. in that habitat
