Size: ~2.5 cm
Found this inch worm supported by its own silk mimicking a stick. What would this be the caterpillar of..?

Anavitrinella does look good
much like Yurika's here

Common Gray…
Seems to match the description as a flat-faced tan-colored stick mimic with faint middorsal and midventral striping. It's sad because I grew up in Jackson Heights and never heard about a 9,000 acre wildlife reserve near Cross Bay Blvd. There's a bus stop a few blocks away from where I lived that actually goes directly to the refuge. I missed out.

See reference here.

Refuge..
That's awful! It's such a great place! every once in a while I even encounter class outings there. The other day I saw my first terrapin..! The way I found out about the place was by looking at the Metro Map and Googling all of the names of the big green patches on it. I'd moved to NYC from the countryside out side of Philadelphia and was craving a nature experience. Now I have regular haunts here such as the reserve and Gateway National park. Anything that is accessible by MTA now is likely to get a visit!

Thanks for the ID!
