Golden fungus beetle - Cercyon occallatus

Golden fungus beetle - Cercyon occallatus
New Hampshire, USA
Size: 2.1 mm
Occasionaly I discover something I don't recall having collected in a rearing container I've had for quite some time, and that's the case with this beetle. I don't know when I collected it or pecisely where. It was somewhere in the Nashua NH area, but it might have been a larva or even an egg hidden on or in some tree fungus I collected (That's primarily what's in the container.)

The beetle is alive in all these shots. I used water droplets to position it in various poses -- something you can do with smaller (tiny) beetles.
