Cloudless Sulphur caterpillar ready to pupate - Phoebis sennae

Cloudless Sulphur caterpillar ready to pupate - Phoebis sennae
Switzerland County, Indiana, USA
August 20, 2009
I found this caterpillar in the pupating position on Common Milkweed (Asclepias syriaca). It must have wandered anyway from its host plant. I believe the host plant it used was Partridge Pea (Chamaecrista fasciculata), as we have a lot of it.
