Range
adventive in sw US to AR, IA / Mexico / West Indies (since ca. 1985)(1); native to so. Africa - Map (2)
"They are on the spread. I expect them anywhere horehound (Marrubium vulgare) grows." (D.B. Thomas, pers.comm. to =v= 8.i.2015)
Food
known hosts include members of Lamiaceae (horehound, thyme), Linaceae (flax), Buddlejaceae (Buddleja), and Rubiaceae (coffee tree); apparently occurs on an even wider range of hosts
