Found in an area of the Ice Age Trail where there are a lot of old trees -- oak and hickory.

must be male Graphisurus despectus -- we have just a few pix
...and no good photos of a male yet; will have it checked

Doug Yanega: "Based on the markings, most likely despectus.
"The problem is that it's the tip of the abdomen and elytra that are diagnostic for this pair of species, and none of the photos show this area clearly."
