Jumping Spider - Hentzia palmarum - male

Jumping Spider - Hentzia palmarum - Male
Mobile (Dog River), Mobile County, Alabama, USA
July 2, 2010
Another non-web spider. Might I assume because of the size of the front legs, that this is a crab spider? Getting a decent shot of the spider was a challenge, as it does not lurk but scurries about, frantically.

Moved from Jumping Spiders.

Hentzia palmarum
Adult male Hentzia palmarum.

Moved from Spiders.

Those big front eye like headlights
say this is a jumping spider in Salticidae. (and it's probably genus Hentzia)
