The taxonomy for species in this genus north of Mexico is pretty much resolved but I can't say that this is the case for BOLD identifications.

now Datana perfusa
Datana perfusa
Dyar, 1923 is raised from synonymy of
Datana perspicua
Grote & Robinson, 1865 to full species status and includes
Datana rotundata
Draudt, 1934 (note correct spelling) as a new synonym in MONA Fascicle 22.1A
(
1
)
. Your specimens at BOLD are now identified as
Datana perfusa
by J.S. Miller, the lead author. Nice!

Do you have a good shot of CMAZ-0824 as well? The BOLD image is pretty shabby.
This species is not included in Pohl's list or in Lafontaine & Schmidt. But David Wagner has apparently identified several from AZ some of which were barcoded.
I’m not sure what to make of the BOLD data. The 7 specimens of Datana rotunda are in BIN BOLD:ACH9674 which includes 107 samples in 10 species. That BIN overlaps with BOLD:AAA7653 which contains 123 samples in 4 species. The two BINs together span ~2% distance. Despite the narrow span, the species listed do appear to fall into separate branches of the taxon tree.

Datana rotunda
An image of CMAZ-0824 had already been posted to BugGuide but had not yet been moved. When I hold specimens to try to get eggs they often get "worn".
