A. kochi female and egg sac - Alopecosa kochi - female

A. kochi female and egg sac - Alopecosa kochi - Female
Stulsaft Park, Redwood City, San Mateo County, California, USA
July 5, 2010
Size: 9 mm
I found this adult female lycosid running across the trail in a suburban park. The 6-millimeter egg sac, attached to the spinnerets, contained twenty-eight 1-millimeter white eggs, some of which had started to develop into tiny spiders. Based on the epigynum, this seems to be A. kochii, a common medium-sized wolf spider in my area.

Nice
I hope you find a male one of these days! I'd like to see one from your area and compare it with the Alberta representatives.
