Wasp versus beetle - Diplotaxis tristis

Wasp versus beetle - Diplotaxis tristis
Fredericton, York County, New Brunswick, Canada
July 5, 2010
Overheard at my bug light a few days ago:

"Get offa me, you stinking wasps! I shouldn't have to put up with this. Go and bother someone else. I know! I'll just climb to the top of the sheet and disappear into the darkness."

And that's just what he/she did.

Ants, I think, not wasps.
Wonder why they'd be interested in the beetle?
