Edgeminers in my birch tree - Fenusella nana

I've been taking images of these leaf blotches for a few days. Today I collected 2 leaves and took them to the CFS lab where I work. I photographed both leaves and dissected the 2 blotches. I then put the 2 larvae together on one blotch and photographed them through a camera attached to a microscope.

I feel confident that these are Messa nana. Source: Rose and Lindquist, 1982. Insects of eastern hardwood trees. Canadian Forestry Service, Forestry Technical Report 29. 304 pp.
