Well that is strange!
I wonder if your computer has cached an old version of the page and you need somehow to find a way to tell it you don't want the old cached page, but you want it to open a new one. John sometimes has that problem at school. Maybe one of the computer wiz's can figure out the problem. We see the second image, an image of the underside of the wing, just fine. Sorry we don't know more. See what happens if you do a search on the number 424148. That might be a way of getting around the white screen.

got it
I had to try a different computer. The ventral view proves me wrong. This is, as Paul asked about below, a Phaon Crescent. The top of the wings lack the strong contrast between the orange and pale yellow that Phaons often show, but the underside looks perfect.

Corey when I compare this to
Corey when I compare this to both shots in "Butterflies Through Binoculars Florida" both views seem sloser to Pearl.

Phaon Crescent
The top of this butterfly is odd.

The undersides of Pearls are very yellow with relatively few markings:

Phaons are very well-marked and have distinctive dark patches:

Do you have "Butterflies thro
Do you have "Butterflies through Binoculars Florida"? The undersides of the Pearl in their pics are actually more dense with more of that rust coloe on the LW. They look nothing like this shot at all!

I will email Dr. Gruber
I recently helped out with a survey with a man by the name of Dr. Rick Gruber. I know he did some work (in the 90's) with crescents in the panhandle of Florida. I will email him to see what he thinks.

Please ask him about that boo
Please ask him about that book and thanks!

I cannot view the other image
A photo of the hindwing would be helpful. I see that there is a linked image, but I cannot view it.

That's strange, Corey
It comes up just fine for us. Maybe try to refresh something, or click on it anyway and see if it opens.

All I get is a blank white screen.
