San Marcos, Aquarena Springs, Hays County, Texas, USA
June 15, 2010
Size: 2 mm
This tiny almost transparent Lachesillid is found on dead palm leaves where it obviously camouflages well. The male is characterized by a reddish brown thorn like tip of the epiproct and the long outward curving parameres that are blunt tipped.
Psocoptera/ Psocomorpha/ Lachesillidae/ Forcepeta group

confused
psocodea.speciesfile.org has a listing "kathrynae Mockford & Gurney, 1956" (not Mockford & Sullivan, and not 'katherynae') -- would you pls double-check and edit as appropriate for consistency? thanks.

Lachesilla kathrynae

you're my hero, Diane.
