I found this beetle on a hot day by a lake elevation 7000 feet . It was resting on a dead pine tree . At first , I thought that it was a yellow jacket wasp and I was pleasantly surprised that it was a beetle of some sort . Any comments on this beautifully patterned beetle would be appreciated and would further my ever-growing buggy knowledge , thanks much , sincerely Beth

Moved tentatively -- very nice beetle, will seek confirmation
thanks, Beth!
