Tiny orange beetle under bark - Symbiotes gibberosus

Tiny orange beetle under bark - Symbiotes gibberosus
Stulsaft Park, Redwood City, San Mateo County, California, USA
July 11, 2010
Size: 1.5 mm
I found and collected this tiny orange beetle under a piece of bark on a fallen log. Having a lot of trouble with this one - cryptophagid? mycetophagid? too small for a byturid, right? Help! In situ photo.

This is now CASENT 9096860.

Gotcha -
sorry about that, v - will start adding that there...

Thanks, v!
Geez - I did look at this family, but White's "Beetles" makes it tough, perhaps because this is an old world species: "Usually black with red or orange. Usually no hairs on dorsal surface, shiny". Strike two.
