fly? - Rhagio lineola - female

fly? - Rhagio lineola - Female
Toronto, Southern Ontario, Ontario, Canada
July 11, 2010
Size: 1cm
I found this fly right after the World Cup match ended. It was on my windshield seemingly enjoying sap that had fallen. It would bow down and eat, then pop itself back up and wave it's front legs around. It looks rather syrphid like, though pointy like a Snipe fly.

Rhagio lineola
It would appear to be a female Rhagio lineola, however almost all the Canadian specimens at the CNC are from Ottawa, and only one in the Guelph collection has it in Wellington county. I was unaware that they have been collected in Toronto yet(not even the ROM has them), so nice find!

Snipe Fly (Rhagionidae), I think.
Resembles Rhagio:

Wait for expert confirmation/correction, though.
