Ephuta? - Timulla vagans - female

Ephuta? - Timulla vagans - Female
Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA
July 4, 2010
Size: 9mm
Found walking on the edge of a pool surrounded by cement. Is this Ephuta?

This is my first Mutillidae sighting on Pennsylvania. I have seen Dasymutilla in Delaware, but never PA.

Moved
Moved from Timulla.

Timulla sp.
Shape of the thorax and tergite I help to ID this one as a Timulla. Ephuta has a more oval-shaped thorax, and tergite I has both sides parallel to one another.

Moved from ID Request.

Any way to get it to the species?
Are there any pictures I should take to get it identified?

Timulla and Ephuta females
are among the most difficult mutillids to identify, even with a microscope. I'm not confident based on photos, since there are several in the East that look like this.

ok
I'll leave it at genus then.
