Purplish Copper ? - Plebejus - female

Purplish Copper ? - Plebejus - Female
Livermore , Altamont creek, Alameda County, California, USA
July 12, 2010
This is a small butterfly which I found on a Dandelion . At first it was rubbing the back of it's wings together like a Gray Hairstreak but it had no fancy tail . Thanks for any comments , these little fellows are tricky beautiful and there are so many different kinds that look similar , sincerely Beth

It is a female blue,
and she looks to be Plebejus acmon, or perhaps P. lupini. I'm not comfortable with making the distinction (they are very hard to tell apart, and there is a chance that perhaps they are not even really different; or, that there are even more than just the two).
