Ants - Pheidole dentata

Ants - Pheidole dentata
Sand Springs, Osage County, Oklahoma, USA
July 11, 2010
Size: 4mm (5/32") each ant
These two ants have a dead assassin they're carrying. It's really interesting how the two ants were working together plus the fact that they were on a completely vertical surface. Good grip!!

About the measurement...
Are you absolutely certain aobut that measurement? 4mm is the body length of the related and somewhat similar Aphaenogaster, but I'm pretty sure these are minor workers of Pheidole dentata, which never exceed 3mm.
