Cockroach - Ectobius lucidus - male

Cockroach - Ectobius lucidus - Male
Barrie, ON CANADA, Simcoe, Ontario, Canada
July 11, 2010
Size: 1 cm or less
As you can see the individual of the same specimen is dead now and falling a bit apart: I am not sure I am showing you what you need but I can see some spines on the femur of the first two legs. It appears to be two spines but in the mean time look for a new individual to get a better look.
It also appear that I made a bit of a mess trying to un-link the different individuals as suggested while trying to keep the same ones together. I hope that can be cleaned up without too much difficulty. Thanks again.

On the right front femur you can clearly see those two ventral spines, indicating Ectobius lapponicus rather than the other two species in this genus, which have 3 spines. Thanks for including this image! I've added a thumbnail image of this picture on the Ectobius Guide Page.

Thank you.
Thanks a lot for your helping to narrow this one down the species. Interesting and I learned something new. FYI: I used a Pentax Optio Wpi 6M which is a point and shoot model but it has a manual focus macro mode for these close up shoots.
