I've been looking at these photos some more. This spider is such a close match to the Alberta specimen I think it's safe to move it to the species page.

Wolf spider
Nice find!

This goes in the genus Pardosa, and P. hyperborea is a good possibility for the species. Compare with this adult female from Alberta:
