A better view of the head wou
A better view of the head would be more definitive, but this appears, based on the reddish hints at the base of gastral tergite I, to be the "slave-making"
Formica subintegra
. Most likely it parasitizes
F. glacialis
up that way, while farther south, it uses
F. subsericea
.
