Size: 2 mm
I can't quite figure out what this is. Vestiture reminds me of Buchananius, but it doesn't really match up to me.

(Tarsal claws not toothed; deep sternal channel going to mesosternum; funicle with 7 segments)

type of vestiture found in several subfams; i can think of five
maybe one of the acallesque genera of Cryptorhynchini? could also be in the Conotrachelini -- i wish i knew what all the genera look like; will dig deeper & ask around

thanks -- funny example of hemi-homonymy
so, the bottomline is: in that tribe, i can exclude everything except Canistes and Acalles -- but, frankly, at this point i don't believe the weevil in question is a member of either [will check sp. descr. in D&A again]
and your bug just *must* be in D&A for the mere fact this is Indiana, The Home of Downie Coll...

i looked at it of course:
we have a couple of 'periode bleu' pix on BG
i ruled it out because of those longitudinal things flanking the scutellum; yours is also broader-shouldered
