Another question comes to mind: I wonder if this is perhaps
Fernaldella stalachtaria, but I can't tell for sure without seeing more of the under front wing (the part hidden by the hind wing) or of the top side. It looks more like that species to me than any of the other images posted on BugGuide (including those posted to date under Fernaldella stalachtaria!).
