Free Reference Books - I'll pay postage, cheapest way
I was an very amateur field assistant to my Dad who studied and wrote (a lot) on spiders. He was also interested in butterflies and ants. The books he gave me (with a few exceptions) are sitting idle - most are over my head and I don't have the means to get to the microscopic level. If someone can USE them, I'll be happy to mail them and pay postage the cheapest way. Please understand this is first come, first serve.
"Spider Genera of North America" by Vincent D. Roth, copyright 1985. Paperback. Binding tight for the most part - a few pages are loose, nice drawings of palps. Published originally in 1982 as "Handbook for Spider Identification"
"Spiders of Connecticut" by Benjamin Julian Kaston State Geological and Natural History Survey of Connecticut, Department of Environmental Protection 1981, Bulletin 70, Revised Edition BIG paperback hardly used, binding tight with no loose pages
"How to Know the Spiders. Second Edition" by B. J. Kaston Copyright 1972 Hard cover (red & white), good++ condition, binding tight with no loose pages.
"Spiders of the Eastern United States - A Photographic Guide" by W. Make Howell/Ronald L. Jenkins This is a duplicate; Dad gave it to me twice and I will use one, can part with one. Paperback in like-new condition, copyright 2004 Beautiful photos
"Ants - Standard Methods for Measuring and Monitoring Biodiversity" Forward by Edward O. Wilson Copyright 2000 - Paperback, like-new condition
I would be pleased to find a loving home for these reference books.
If you are interested in any or all of these, please contact me with a reply to this topic and we can exchange information.
